A well maintained wick can make your candle burn fuller, more even, and for longer and can also help reduce excess sooting. The suggested length of the wick should remain between 5-7mm to ensure optimal burning. 
 
Snuffers not only are they an attractive piece of home decor but they do actually serve a purpose. I will be the first to admit I have covered walls in wax when blowing out a candle..more than once. Use a snuffer to avoid this! For best results, cover the candle flame for 3-4 seconds to fully extinguish the candle flame.
